Eco Schools
Using Think Cans for learning can help you towards achieving Eco Schools status. Novelis supports the work of Eco Schools in the UK and we want to do our bit to help schools reach their goals.
If you're a Bronze school and you want to go for Silver, here are a few ideas to get you started:
-
- Use Think Cans resources to demonstrate that environmental issues have been covered within curriculum work in most year groups. The resources are free and they are applicable to different ages.
- Download The Recycling Loop, which has been developed to illustrate the life cycle of an aluminium drink can - from purchase by a consumer, through disposal, reprocessing and remanufacture back into drink cans. You can use The Loop in assemblies and in class to introduce recycling or sustainability to pupils at Key Stage 1 and 2.
- Take a look at the Think Cans classroom activities. For younger children they have been designed to work across the Science, Maths and English curriculum for Key Stage 1 and 2 and are a great way of introducing recycling and encouraging pupils to think about the environment.
- Print off the Think Cans information sheets so the whole school can learn about recycling, or use some of our Assembly Ideas to get the whole school involved.
